The technology we have at the moment allows us to build wonderful eCommerce stores. Unfortunately, until artificial intelligence starts doing everything for us we’ll run into problems. It’s happening all the time when people build new stores.

Are you thinking of getting into the eCommerce game in the future? If so, you should be aware of the issues you’ll come up against. It will give you a better chance of succeeding. Here are a few things you need to keep a watchful eye on.

1. Competition Is Too Tough

The majority of people who run eCommerce stores don’t fly to China. They order products on websites like Alibaba. The fact technology allows you to do this is wonderful, but it creates too much competition.

Everyone is trying to sell the same products at the same prices. If you had sourcing agents in China it would be different. You could sell products your competition can’t get their hands on, but entrepreneurs don’t do it.

2. A Lack Of Written Content

How many happy birthday messages could you come up with in an hour. I’m guessing your word document would be pages long. When it comes to creating web content eCommerce sites don’t have the same amount of ideas.

It’s a shame because it could generate a lot of extra traffic you don’t need to pay for. Apps available today also let you include pricing tables, colored boxes, and everything else that will increase conversions.

3. Issues With Website Security

If someone is trying to hack your website it means you’ve made it. Hackers have deemed you worthy enough to attack, which would be flattering if it wasn’t so scary. You must do everything to keep customer data safe.

When your eCommerce store starts making good money you must invest in proper security straight away. You can’t afford to let anyone inside. They will always try and it’s silly making it easy for them.

4. Problems With The Shipping

The most important job you have is looking after your customers. There is lots of software to keep in touch with them at all times. Chatbots will even answer questions for you when everybody goes home at night.

Modern software used to order products is exceptional. Sadly, there is one thing you can’t depend on and it’s not related to technology. If you are shipping products something will eventually go wrong.

5. Driving Traffic To The Site

If you have lots of product pages on your website you’ll generate a little traffic. Add a blog onto it and the numbers will increase considerably. It still doesn’t mean you’ll have enough traffic to run a profitable business.

eCommerce store owners need to take things to the next level. It’s crucial to target specific keywords if you want to maximize your earnings. The easiest way to do it is by using great keyword research tools.

Unfortunately It’s Only The Beginning

You’ll run into a bucketload of problems when trying to run an online store. Luckily, the technology we have today is making things much easier. You still need to keep an eye on the things we’ve spoken about today.
