There are some great new enhancements that our customers have been looking forward to in the most recent 1802 release of SAP Integrated Business Planning. Luckily, we had some experts from our US offices in Pittsburgh & Palo Alto with us to share some details.

With the 1802 release, our customers can find a major enhancement in our current inventory optimization offering. We are moving on to a new technique and methodology with the first capabilities supporting a Demand-Driven MRP (DDMRP) process within SAP Integrated Business Planning for inventory. I have interviewed Gerry Perham (Chief Product Owner for inventory) regarding inventory optimization highlights, DDMRP and our future plans in this area:

– New S&OP Process Stage Permissions improve data control through different process steps by granting temporary permissions to see or edit specific data elements or key figures.
