The latest development in the educational sector is AI (artificial intelligence). This is gaining more grounds and hugely integrated at various levels of education ranging from the institutional to courses. Recent research has proven a trend of over 47.5% growth rate between the years of 2017 and 2021. Hence, I can comfortably say artificial intelligence is infiltrating diverse aspects of our lives be it educational, social, economic or political. A good example is the use of chatbots as a tool to help make students focus, frequent reminders, prompt assistance, and encouragement. It is to this effect that I decided to outline some points on how this has and will impact our lives while focusing on education.

Meeting the needs and requirements of every student may pose a very challenging activity as, we notice a variety of student type ranging from; ESL, disabled, remedial and advanced students. Each category has unique needs to be satisfied. With the implementation of AI, the system is set to adapt to individual learning preferences per student. Likewise, offer education while focusing on their weaknesses and strength.

Furthermore, AI systems are gradually eliminating a greater part of human function. A prominent function in education is tutoring. A tutoring system can easily be adapted to suit the needs of a student while taking into consideration the existing knowledge the student has acquired. This aids it deliver its instructions a support in a customized format.

Interestingly, artificial intelligence systems keep a track record of course activities. As such it can easily identify lapses in the performance of the students via assessments. For example, if in a quiz most students get the wrong answer which may be similar, the system automatically denoted where they are lacking and makes informed reports for improvements.

Again, grading which has emerged to be the most tedious teaching task has proven to be very demanding and time-consuming. This is so as, it consumes more time which could have been used for either professional research and development or planning of quality lessons. Computer programs are now designed to handle such tedious function as they need just the making guide. At the end, the program compiles data about performance and does the grading.

Also, such systems are costumed to give useful feedback to students. With the recent development in technology and social media, students are now getting very reluctant of risking before their mates and teachers, thus such a system makes it easy for expression and to offer reasonable feedback necessary to improve their understanding.

From the above, we see that, as stakeholders in the educational system have uncertainties regarding the rapid systematic changes. However, we still can not ignore the enormous advantages it presents as it’s a great tool for learning experience improvements.
