Listing all User name with respective assigned Roles in SAP system and exporting the data to local file

If we need to get the list of all user name and respective assigned authorization roles in the system, we can get the data from table AGR_USERS by following below steps

  • Need rauthorizations to run and work in SE16 (Data Browser)

Step1: Login to the system and client from which you need to get the lists

Step2: Run the transaction SE16 – Data Browser and enter table name ‘AGR_USERS‘ and click on ‘Table Contents’ button

Step3: In selection screen, remove the ‘Width of Output list‘ and ‘Maximum No. of hits‘ default values to list all

Step4: Click Execute, we can see the list of all users and respective assigned authorization roles

You can sort as required, here I’m sorting ascending order for User Name column by selecting the column and by clicking ‘Sort in Ascending Order’ icon

Step5: Export the data to spreadsheet, click the icon ‘Spreadsheet’. It will pop up the window, select the required format and save to local

List of all users with respective assigned authorization roles data exported to local file

      Hi Santhosh,

Thanks for outlining how to find this data using the SE16 Data Browser, but can you explain what the advantage is of using this method vs using the User Information System - SUIM? I believe I can get the same output using SAP-delivered standard transactions and reports:

      Tcode: SUIM

Select User -> Users by Complex Selection Criteria -> By User ID

On the selection screen, leave everything blank/default, or restrict the output as necessary.

On the results screen, click the button for Roles.

The next results screen will list all your users, with each role assignment they have. Or, you can sort by role, so that each role is listed along each user assigned to that role. The results include start and end dates, and also the role description, user full name, etc. The results can be exported to Excel directly.

I have to agree, SUIM would be the best way of achieving this.
