Creating a Goal Plan within Onboarding

Introduction

If your SuccessFactors platform includes both the Onboarding and Performance Management modules, you are only a few steps away from being able to create a new hire goal plan directly within Onboarding. To prevent you from managing each new hire in both Onboarding and Performance Management, this simple integration allows hiring managers the ability to create 30, 60, 90 day goal plans directly in the Onboarding module.   .

Objective

For this integration to work successfully there are a variety of fields that must be configured correctly. I have outlined these steps below, and included a sample goal plan template that can be edited and uploaded in your system.

Goal Template Naming Conventions

The first step is to make sure that the <obj-plan-name> is set to New Hire Goal Plan and the <obj-plan-id> is 101.



Next, you must check that the naming configuration for your goal objectives is 30Day, 60Day, 90Day.



Grant Hiring Manager Permission

Once you have ensured that the object names are correct in your goal template you must grant the following permissions to the hiring manager:

1. Permission to create goals in Onboarding New Hire Activities


2. Permission to write fields within the goal plan

Additional permissions include who can delete goals from a plan, who can share goals from his/her plan, and who can read the goal plan. These can be seen in the sample template below.

Upload Template

Now that you have completed the goal template it is time to upload it in Provisioning under Managing Plan Template -- Import/Update/Export Goal Plan Template.
