Sasa, a Senior Presales Specialist (Manufacturing & Industrial IoT) for SAP grew up in Germany and now lives in Switzerland.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I think this changed a few times, but at a certain point I knew that I want to work with computer and robots and because this was exciting.
When did you start working at SAP?
In January 2016.
How did you come to SAP?
In my last job I was working as project lead for SAP Manufacturing Execution implementation. This allowed me to create a strong network in the SAP manufacturing community and I used this network after the project and my part-time studies were finished.
What qualifications did you need for your current job?
Like SAP Leonardo, you need to be able to connect technology (things) with people and processes. Ideally you have some knowledge from the business area you are working in. I feel most comfortable with Supply Chain and Manufacturing topics because I worked 10 years for industrial companies in this field before I came to SAP.
What do you think the key skills people need to do your job?
I guess the technical skills depend on the specific focus area or solution you are working on. On the one hand an analytical mindset is a good basis to cover the technical requirements and on the other hand as a presale you should have good communication skills, creativity and be eager for knowledge.
What does your career at SAP mean to you?
I really enjoy working at SAP because my nearly 90,000 colleagues are very cooperative and work hard to achieve big improvements with positive impact on our customers and us.
What does success look like to you?
In my opinion success is, when you can enjoy what you are doing. I have the privilege to enjoy my work and my family and this makes me feel good.
If you could go back in time and give your 18-year-old-self one piece of career advice what would it be?
Probably a bit more discipline would have been good in the past. But I would also try to raise the awareness for all the possibilities that you have in your life and not think too much about limitations.
