Life at SAP – with Charlotte Adelgaard

One of the best ways to show what Life is like at SAP is to share our employee stories to provide insight into their experiences and what being successful means to us at the company. I am Heather Walker, and I work on the Global Employer Branding team. Over the last few months I have had the opportunity to speak with 50 colleagues across our Europe, Middle East and Africa region to help share their stories. Here is an interview I did with Charlotte Adelgaard.

“I love my job and my career fuels me, I get more energy by working at SAP. My family comes first and they are happy and healthy which allows me to pursue more in my career.”

Charlotte, VP EMEA North for SAP Hybris, was born in South Korea but was raised in Denmark. She now lives in Sweden with her family.

Having originally wanting to be an Accountant when she grew up, Charlotte changed her mind and began her career with SAP in September 2014 as an Account Executive in Denmark. She was later promoted to Sales Director for the Nordics for SAP Hybris before being asked to take on her current challenge.

“Success to me is when your team is cheering for you and the team’s success. There is no ‘I’ in team, and I see myself as part of the team. We all play different roles to make sure the wheel turns and the team recognizing and respecting me as a vital part is success for me.”

We asked Charlotte what advice she would give to her 18-year-old-self if she could go back in time:

“Be true to yourself; never lose yourself to others’ expectations, money, titles and power – this is still the way I advise myself”.
