Oops, we did it again: hub.berlin winners join SAP IoT Startup Accelerator
The second year in a row, we have the winning startup joining our Accelerator. What a great acknowledgement of our work!”
– Ignatz Schatz, Startup Engagement Manager at SAP IoT Startup Accelerator.
Sharing Knowledge
Together with colleagues from SAP Labs Berlin, SAP.iO, SAP Business One, the SAP IoT Startup Accelerator joined forces to inform and connect with the startup industry as well as business partner at this year’s hub.berlin, the leading trend and innovation conference by Bitkom on November 28, 2017.
In addition to having this range of expertise at the SAP booth, talks about intelligent enterprise with machine learning (by Sebastian Wieczorek, Head of SAP Leonardo Machine Learning Foundation) and the patters of success in the digital age (by Dr. Carsten Linz from SAP Center for Digital Leadership CDL) were held in fully packed rooms.
Looking into the IoT future
At the Innovator’s Pitch, the heart of hub.berlin, the spotlight was directed onto the startups themselves. After having looked through a long list of application, juries in the categories IoT, Digital Health and Travel & Tourism elected three startups each, which presented on stage.
For the SAP sponsored IoT category, these three startup have pitched:
blik, which offers a smart IoT backend and robust sensors to connect logistics and Industry 4.0 for inside localization.
Evertracker, which connects GPS and other sensors with existing data sources such as weather and traffic to reduce downtime and give a concrete calculation of ETAs (estimated time of arrival).
Xain, based in London and Berlin, developed solution novel combinations of Machine Learning, Cryptography, and Distributed Systems Engineering.
Together with Dr. Severin Todt (Head of Engineering and Shop Floor Solution at Lufthansa Technik), Videesha Böckle (Partner at Signals) and Stephan Dörner (Editor in Chief at t3n magazine), Ignatz Schatz picked the winner in the IoT category and handed the 5,000 Euro winner’s check to blik.
In the category of Digital Health the startup Boca Health was picked, the winner of Tavel & Tourism was Twyla.
The future of SAP & blik
Some of our SAP colleagues will recognize the name: The Munich-based startup is already aligned with SAP’s Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) under Franz Hero’s LoB Connected SCM and works closely together with Product Owner Tobias Adler.
After having participated in the TechStars IoT Accelerator in New York, blik is now joining the SAP IoT Startup Accelerator in Berlin.
And they are in great company: Two of last year’s hub.berlin Innovation Pitch winners, SkySense (winner IoT category) and Synfioo (winner Mobility category), are also participating in the SAP IoT Startup Accelerator.
The SAP teams are looking forward to next year’s Hub Conference to stay ahead with innovation and future technology. Thank you to the team from SAP Labs Berlin for organizing the event so wonderfully.
