SAP, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Public Sector

On May 25th, 2018 the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will become effective. Adopted in May 2016 this newly harmonized data protection law will be a directly applicable law in all EU and EEA Member States.

See my recent blog on specific aspects of GDPR for Public Sector authorities:

https://blogs.sap.com/2017/12/21/ready-for-christmas-and-gdpr-in-2018-a-perspective-on-gdpr-for-public-sector-authorities./

As May 2018 will be approaching, more questions will arise on SAP’s perspective on GDPR and our efforts to ensure compliance of our offering in conjunction to GDPR as well.

You can find general information from SAP on GDPR  here:

https://discover.sap.com/gdpr/en_us/index.html

SAP has also published a white paper on how we are implementing GDPR, hence ensuring GDPR compliance for our offering.

You can find it here:

As more specific questions arise on SAPs solutions for Public Sector and GDPR please. do not hesitate to contact us. As the Lead for Government ERP & Cloud in SAP’s Industry Business Unit for Public Sector we want to help you to become and stay compliant with GDPR when using SAP solutions.

      Hi Markus,

      Thank you for this blog.

As GDPR mostly concerns personal data, is there a more focused solution or approach for the SAP HCM/HR systems coming from SAP?

      Regards

      Sudeepti
