6) Outlook and Next Steps:

Looking at the road map for built-in analytics you will find the following key themes, which determine the strategic directions of future investments in SAP Business ByDesign Analytics:

  1. Further leverage HTML5 and simplify analytics UIs for casual users.
  2. Execute on the overview page concepts incl. KPI and report cards.
In a next step we will extend the overview page under home to all work center overview pages and enable key user adaptation. Custom-built overview pages will become a subsequent step on this path.
  3. Simplify adaptation and key user tools
Reuse of delivered content in custom reporting scenarios is a key area of improvement.
Key topics here are improved transparency into existing content, simplifications of key user tools and completion of existing application content.
  4. Openess
Beyond the built-in analytics scenario the side by side reporting with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) , Business Warehouse as well as third party platforms are key.
To achieve this we started a new ODATA API in 1802, which will form the basis for future data replication scenarios and improved SAC integration.

      Hi Stefan,

      Trust you are doing well!

I just got email notification that the new online course on SP ByD analytics is announced to take place in June 2019.

May I ask, will it be the same as we had in Jan 2016 or similar, what are the particular differences between the two?

      Thanks and regards,

      Hi Alexander,

the course in 2016 was based on the Silverlight UI and does not reflect the mayor investments, which have been done in the last 2 years. Especially the migration to HTML5 fundamentally changes built-in analytics in ByDesign

Furthermore taking the time to participate in this new course will add the following new aspects:

      • Changed monitoring concepts based on KPI, KPI Variants and Overview Pages
      • Changed way to interact with our new multidimensional reporting and charting in HTML5
      • New ways to extend ByDesign with SAP Analytics Cloud
      • also highlighting the concepts how the intelligent enterprise strategy impacts Analytics within ByDesign
      • Enhanced key user concepts to adapt overview page, data sources and create join data source
      • ... and much more

This few items hopefully illustrate, why it's worth participating in this new course.

      Kind Regards Stefan Kraus
