Setting up Hierarchy for Location Layout during Migration of Location and Logistics Area
The hierarchy of a company is divided on the basis of the responsibilities and roles of each department or employees. Companies tries to maximize the reach of products so that it can earn the maximum revenue. It is the responsibility of a company to make proper allocation of transportation systems and equipment to facilitate smooth entry and exit of products and goods.
We often come across a requirement in order to setup location and logistics areas in hierarchy at multiple levels. For Example we have a Location A under which we have logistics areas B,C,D which could be at same level or could be a different level depending on the requirement. Further drilling down at Logistic Area we have multiple Child Logistics Areas at different levels.
Let us understand in simple how to set up Hierarchy during Migration of Location and Logistics Area .
Maintain In Migration Sheet LOA- General as follows
First Row — New Location with New Logistics Area id , Parent Logistics Area id as blank.
Second Row — Location with New Logistics Area id , Parent Logistics Area id as Logistics Area referenced to the one which was created in first row.
Third Row — Location with New Logistics Area id , Parent Logistics Area id as Logistics Area referenced to the one which was created in second row.
After successful Migration , This is how it looks in System,
Supply Chain Design Master Data Work Center, Locations View , Select Edit Layout on Location P1100-07
Similarly we have a different example under which we have one Level Hierarchy maintained below
This results to the layout as mentioned below.
Two Level Hierarchy maintained below
This results to the layout as mentioned below.
Three Level Hierarchy maintained below
This results to the layout as mentioned below.
Similarly these levels of hierarchy can be maintained to any no of levels as per the business requirement in Location Layout during migration of location and logistics Area.
