SAP SuccessFactors Mobile: What’s New in the Q4 2017 Release?
In this quarterly release, the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile application has a particular focus on usability, security, and talent management. Below is an overview of the new enhancements that became available in the app’s October, November, and December 2017 monthly releases.
Learning
For iOS and Android devices, employees can now view, verify, and provide e-signatures to indicate that they have completed a learning course. This is especially important for regulated industries, where training is often mandatory and audited for regulatory compliance purposes.
In this release, the Android app now has a mobile readiness indicator within Learning. When learning content is enabled for mobile devices, users will now see the phrase “Mobile Enabled Content.”
Performance & Goals
iOS and Android users can now send performance forms within an iterative route map step. iOS users will also have the ability to add, edit, and delete performance goals, development goals, and competencies on performance forms, as well as view and update custom fields in custom sections.
In the December 2017 mobile release, iOS and Android users can take advantage of the internal rater workflow for 360 multi-rater performance review forms. With this enhancement, internal raters are able to participate in or decline a 360 multi-rater request; view and provide comments and ratings for performance goals, development goals, and competencies; provide section comments for performance goals, development goals, and competency sections; provide an overall summary rating and summary section comment; and view calculated and adjusted calculated overall summary ratings.
Recruiting
An iOS and Android enhancement enables job requisition approvers to reject or send back the requisition to the previous step. This offers approvers greater flexibility in reviewing job requisitions.
Employee Central Payroll
In this release, we have re-designed the payroll summary feature in the iOS app to meet Apple design guidelines. In addition, employees can view pay statements as Adobe PDF documents.
Usability
We have further simplified the mobile app activation process. When users first download the iOS or Android app, they can search for their company name or URL and the app will look up the instance details for that company. The user will then be presented with the standard log-in screen to access the app. Previous activation methods, such as QR code-based activation, are still available. Customers planning roll-outs of mobile functionality should contact our Support team to add their company name and URL to our database to enable this function.
Security
A new enhancement ensures the security of an Adobe PDF document and its contents across the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite for Android apps. Within the Admin Center, administrators can control how Android clients handle PDF documents. Companies gain the ability to use the Android built-in PDF viewer, versus a third-party viewer, for added security.
In addition, a new feature for iOS and Android devices allows IT administrators to specify a maximum time before the user is required to re-authenticate on the mobile app to verify that the user should still have access.
