For more than two years, SAP has been evaluating the new HL7
FHIR for several products. What we found was that the financial resources of FHIR were not sufficient, especially for SAP S/4HANA for Patient Accounting. That's why we actively got involved in the definition of the FHIR standard and, for example, defined the
ChargeItem resource to communicate the provision of healthcare provider products for a certain patient.
This was done in collaboration with
gefyra and the technical committee for FHIR from HL7 Germany. Read more about the details
