Welcoming Partners to the SAP API Business Hub
The SAP API Business Hub has gained immense popularity among all SAP customers. It is the place to get started with building extensions or creating new applications. Creating newer business models/ revenue models, evolving as part of the digital transformation is now faster. As of today, SAP API Business Hub has more than 1250 digital artifacts – Integration flows, APIs, Adapters – across 180 packages, with millions of API calls in the API sandbox.
To support the growing requests from our partner ecosystem to get listed, collaborate with their customers and to monetize via the SAP API Business Hub, we have been focusing on simplifying the process for on-boarding partners digital content.
We already have listed the digital content for few of our select partners. We have business APIs related to Geocoding, Digital Rights Management, Data Quality, etc. as well as partners providing integration packages.
We are happy to announce that we now have a complete framework (onboarding – enablement – participation – selling) for Partner Engagement for Digital Content. We also announced this partly in TechEd Las Vegas. Partners can now publish – APIs and Pre-packaged Integration content.
For example, as a partner having a cloud service you may want to make the integration with SAP simpler. To do this, you will build integration flows and other digital content; offer APIs to the SAP ecosystem. You can now share this digital content with your customers using SAP API Business Hub. As this is the channel of discovery and consumption, you can now support your customers in accelerating their integration and application needs.
Partners need to join one of the SAP partner programs to qualify. Smaller partner can leverage the SAP PartnerEdge Open Ecosystem program free of charge to get started. Partners can use CPI and API Management service as part of the innovation pack to develop digital content – APIs or Integration Packages.
Partner Content on SAP API Business Hub needs to adhere to the set of Best Practices and Guidelines defined by us. Content guidelines are now available. Partners need to sign the Partner Participation Agreement to get listed.
The consumption of this partner content will be guided by the SAP API Business Hub Terms of Use document.
Partners can also get their Business APIs certification via a new ICC certification program. Such Business API packages will have a SAP Certified logo and will get listed as “SAP Certified” content on SAP API Business Hub. SAP ICC already supports certification scenarios for SAP Cloud Platform Integration such as HCI PI adapter and HCI PI content, and these content packages have already been listed and available for discovery on the Hub.
Interested SAP Partners can now participate with us in the pilot by contacting icc-info@sap.com. To learn more about the SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC), please visit: https://www.sap.com/partner/certify-my-solution.html.
For the monetization aspect, Partners can then list and sell their digital content packages on the API Business Hub, via the SAP App Center.

Hey Arti,
I had a couple of questions for you. What I’d like to understand is the following:
(1) How is an application in a SAP App Center different from the Open Connectors?
(2) What does a 3rd party developer need to do to list their application as an ‘Open Connector’?
It’d be wonderful if you could throw some light here.
Thanks,
Simon
Hello Simon,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
SAP Open Connectors supports you with normalized connectivity to over 150 non-SAP cloud applications via RESTful APIs. You will find more information here – SAP Cloud Platform Open Connectors overview.
SAP AppCenter lists SAP partner applications that extend SAP products, technology, and solutions.

Arti
