Answer 1

Correct. You got that right? Awesome.

To migrate XS classic to XS advanced applications, check the SAP HANA XS Advanced Migration Guide to properly prepare artifacts and source system for migration and then run the XS Advanced Migration Assistant to convert your XS classic application to XS advanced.

Not correct.

You can try but probably not the best use of your time.

Allthough the name sounds very similar, XS classic and XS advanced model, the architecture is entirely different.

Answer 3

Not correct. There is no online assistant available.

You can run the SAP HANA XS Advanced Migration Assistant on a WIndows (or Linux) clients or directly on the SAP HANA server but you need to download the component XSAC Migration from the Software Download Center at https://support.sap.com/swdc first.

Answer 4

Not correct.

You can certainly add EGit to Eclipse (and probably also to SAP HANA studio – I have not tried it) but this will not perform an automagic upgrade from XS classic to advanced model.

You can also integrate the SAP IDE for SAP HANA with GitHub and pull requests, but, again, this will not perform an automagic upgrade from XS classic to advanced model.

The architecture of XS classic model and advanced model is quite different. Although the name might suggest it, XS advanced model is certainly not a superset of the classic model.
