Next, CTO Björn Goerke took us all aboard the Starship Enterprise for a memorable keynote that highly emphasized SAP Cloud Platform. Major SAP Cloud Platform announcements included the public BETA of SAP Cloud Platform running on Google Cloud Platform, the launch of SAP Cloud Platform Rapid Application Development by Mendix, and the addition of the ABAP environment to SAP Cloud Platform. The official press release noted SAP “announced new business services, product capabilities and strategic partnerships for its platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering, SAP Cloud Platform, that will unlock untapped business potential and extend SAP’s digital innovation system, SAP Leonardo,” and quotes Björn Goerke saying “With our latest investments in SAP Cloud Platform, we provide enterprises and our developer community the choices and cloud services needed for rapid app development and business innovation.”
On the show floor, SAP Cloud Platform hosted three neat and interactive demos that garnered a lot of attention and activity. The demos highlighted new technology and features like Mendix and Cloud Foundry, which helped visitors understand business value and use cases associated with SAP Cloud Platform.
