RUN Sap @Tech Ed 2017 Las Vegas

It was a busy but productive week at SAP Tech Ed in Las Vegas.  In the RUN! SAP Demo Pods, we had a total of 34 demo’s across 5 areas: S/4HANA Cloud – The Intelligent ERP @Cloud, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Integration, SAP S/4HANA Extensibility including S/4HANA Cloud SDK and SCP Apps, Discover SAP S/4HANA, and the S/4HANA Cloud User Experience.  Customer and Partners had some great signage to direct them to the right areas to speak to our eager SAP S/4HANA Cloud colleagues:

My Pod was focused on helping partners and customers understand how we can utilize machine learning solutions and SAP Copilot – with natural language processing – to combine with the variety of business networks (Ariba, Concur, Hybris, SuccessFactors, Fieldglass and others, and to integrate with SAP as well as non-SAP applications to form a more Intelligent ERP.  The Intelligent ERP serves not only as an online transaction processing (OLTP) tool, but also as a smarter enterprise resource planning (ERP) tool as well.  In the Intelligent Enterprise, customers can use machine learning algorithms to evolve historically labor intensive and repetitive tasks into real time business processes that enable business users to focus more on decision-making and process improvement opportunities.  At our booth, we spoke to well over 100 customers who were looking for insight not only into the WHAT? of the intelligent Enterprise but in the HOW? – as in “How can we get there?”.

With a robust set of ERP and business network applications built for integration, as well as a strong set of machine learning and natural language processing tools, SAP is well positioned to help customers deliver on the promise of intelligent ERP.  We presented several lectures as well as demos at our booth on Smart Ordering (natural language processing to place a purchase requisition using SAP Copilot), Defect Handling that uses image and voice recognition to streamline the process of analyzing product defects and collaborating with various members of the organization to address the root cause of the defect and even how we can manage project management tasks such as resource allocation and schedule maintenance in the intelligent enterprise.  I think that we really showed a wide variety of ways in which the Intelligent ERP can help clients achieve the Digital Transformation  that they are looking for.   All in all, it was a busy, but fun-filled 4 day conference.

Of course, our booth had some fun little give-aways such as Gummy Bears as well as a new book hot off the SAP Press called SAP S/4HANA Cloud and that helped to keep things interesting!

For anyone who missed Tech Ed in Las Vegas, don’t miss the events in Bangalore and Barcelona!
