In this Journal of Accountancy article, it shows how to add the speak buttons to Excel 2016.  I thought why not try it with Analysis Office?  What can I do to make ASUG webcast statistics more interesting?

I decided to upload the Excel spreadsheet to SAP Analytics Cloud, then use Analysis Office to "slice" / "dice" the data:

Of course this is better suited for financial data that you need to check.  Just think of all the transposition errors that could be avoided!

Please also note at SAP TechEd the other week we learned that "BusinessObjects" has been dropped from the name too.

More about connecting to Analysis Office to SAP Analytics Cloud was discussed in session ANA208 from SAP TechEd Las Vegas (everything in the future is subject to change)

Note that Analysis Office cannot connect to "live data models" from SAP Analytics Cloud

In 2017 some features are as follows related to SAP Analytics Cloud:

  • Integration into SAP Analytics Cloud

  • Launch Analysis Office from SAP Analytics Cloud
Support of exception aggregation, ranking (list calculation)

More in 2018, relating to Integration into SAP Analytics Cloud

  • Planning support

In the influence session, attendees were most interesting in the upcoming improvements for publications.

In summary, SAP said that "SAP is delivering on a hybrid product strategy combining cloud and on-premise and interoperability between SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office
