SAP Cloud Platform Portal provides a flexible environment to build business portal sites for employees, customers and partners. It comes with a rich set of pre-packaged apps for SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Suite, SAP Hybris Cloud for Customers, SAP Jam and more, together with the ability to integrate classic UI’s such as Web Dynpro for ABAP, SAP GUI for HTML and SAP Screen Personas (additional UI technologies are planned, as you can read in the SAP Portal roadmap).

To provide a comprehensive Digital Experience, a portal should provide robust application integration framework with pre-packages content, side by side with collaboration, content and document management capabilities.

Customers would often like to leverage their existing document and web content management solution to store document and manage web content. For this reason, openness and flexibility to integrate SAP and non-SAP solutions in the portal is key for the success of the SAP Cloud Platform Portal.

We are happy to announce partnerships with leading vendors in the industry - Egnyte and Built.io, providing deep integration with document management and web content management solutions, enabling the creation of even more powerful business portal sites.

Document Management

A document management solution is used to track, manage and store documents and reduce paper. SAP Cloud Platform Portal customers have the option to leverage SAP Document Center and SAP Jam Collaboration for document management within their portals. Now, with the recent partnership with Egnyte, customers have the freedom of choice to choose the best Document Management to answer their business needs.

Egnyte Connect is a secure file sharing solution that enables users to view, download, comment on and share documents and content in the office and on the go. Egnyte Connect, with its rich set of plugins and extensions, allows employees to be more efficient and productive in their daily work, allowing them to easily manage and share files with anyone, regardless of their location, device and apps used.

Web Content Management

Web Content is key to provide successful Digital Experiences, complementing applications and processes with news, updates, blogs and related information. Content must be available across systems and technologies – while being maintained centrally.

SAP Cloud Platform Portal customers can leverage the latest Web Content editing capabilities which are integrated in the product.

We are happy to announce today a new partnership with Built.io Contentstack, a headless content management system (CMS) that unifies, simplifies, and accelerates content management.

Built.io Contentstack empowers organizations to consolidate content management across channels via a single headless CMS, and enables IT to flexibly innovate while delivering breakthrough user experiences.

Why ‘headless’? Headless Content Management is a model in which the front-end application and the content management system are decoupled and function independently of one another. This architecture is rising in popularity as site owners can refresh design without re-implementing the whole CMS. Headless Content Management is a key element to enable omni-channel experience - content is stored in one central repository and is available via any channel.
