It has been a trying year.

For our world.

For our country.

For women in tech.

But things are shifting. All too slowly at times, but fingers and toes crossed, in the right direction.

One event that soothes the soul, serves as inspiration, and makes one feel hopeful for the future and feel empowered is the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC). In just a few weeks, 18,000 attendees will embark to Orlando, Florida for the largest gathering of women technologists, organized by the Anita Borg Institute and presented in partnership with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

SAP is a proud corporate partner of the Anita Borg Institute and a 2017 Platinum Sponsor of Grace Hopper. More than 100 SAP employees from over 30 offices will be joining in on the action in Orlando. Our SAP recruiters and women in leadership roles will actively interview candidates on-site and share some of the reasons why SAP was recently named on Great Place to Work’s coveted list of “Best Workplaces For Women 2017.”

Look out for 19 of our SAP employees speaking or presenting throughout the conference to hear their personal journeys in the technology field and enterprise business.

With a stellar line-up of keynotes speakers, a large focus on hot topics including Artificial Intelligence, Human Computer Interaction, IoT/Wearable Technology, and Security/Privacy, and not to mention the endless opportunities for swag, the three days at GHC are going to fly by.

Is this your first time attending GHC? Your 5th time?

Will you be following the action via a live stream or attending a viewing party?

Regardless of how you participate, use GHC as a portal to ask the tough questions. Raise your hand at a session and ask what everyone else is thinking. Go up to that legendary senior developer and instead of going right for the selfie, ask what has been their biggest struggle and how they have overcome this obstacle. Before you take yet another free t-shirt, challenge that company on how they are ensuring a diverse and inclusive culture for everyone.

I encourage you to use GHC to fuel your tanks, feed your minds, and keep fighting for progress.

There is a lot of work we still have to do, together.
