Reliability of an equipment could be defined as, probability that this equipment would perform its intended functions during the specified period of time. Some of the key parameters that could be used to measure reliability are, time between repair and time to repair.

To arrive at reliable value that could define reliability of an equipment with reasonable confidence, it is important to collect all planned and unplanned downtime for an equipment or equipment of similar type and usage.

With the release of S/4 HANA Cloud 1708 we are happy to communicate that we have delivered a new Fiori app that helps in analyzing reliability of various equipment in your plant. This new Fiori app “Technical object breakdown analysis” analyze maintenance notifications and provide time between repair and time to repair statistic for a given equipment, or set of equipment. Set of equipment can be grouped with same object type, construction type or catalogue profile.

Using this app you can identify set of equipment that needs repair tasks quite often and causes disruption in operations. App use HANA capabilities to do complex mathematical and logical evaluation without any intermediate storage. Realtime calculation KPI ensures no need to reconcile incorrect data stored in intermediate tables, enabling quick evaluation of frequencies of repair and time taken for repair.
