SAP Labs Israel is capitalizing on its proximity to the unique Israeli start-up ecosystem to turn innovation into a growth engine for the company.
Since it was established in 1998, SAP Labs Israel has nurtured strong relationships to the ecosystem of high-tech companies in Israel – recognized as one of the most prolific innovation cultures worldwide. Nearly 20 years later, this strategy has led the Lab to its current position as one of SAP’s leaders in cloud technology, and supports it current mission to develop ideas into great cloud products and technology for the enterprise.
As one of SAP’s globally strategic software development centers, Labs Israel includes an SAP Innovation Center Network R&D group, and is one of four Venture Labs for SAP.iO, SAP’s new venture capital program. But collaborating with SAP.iO is only one of the many engagements the Lab leads with startups, with the goal of injecting the latest innovation into SAP.
In Israel, SAP is the leading business software provider, delivering software solutions to organizations of all sizes and in many sectors – including public, defense, healthcare and higher education. Customers include ZIM, Strauss Elite, Government of Israel, Israel Defense Forces, Bank of Israel, and Technion.
SAP Labs Israel is one of three technology-focused labs in the SAP Labs Network, the others being Labs Bulgaria and Labs Vietnam. The Lab, located in Ra’anana on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, has 550 employees, of which approximately 20% are early talents. SAP Labs Israel is widely recognized as a great place to work, having ranked #3 among SAP locations in Glassdoor for 2017 with a rating of 4.4, and #5 in the software industry in Israel (BDI Coface, 2016).
