September is one of my favourite months (and favourite
songs ;-)) in the year. Of course, autumn is coming and nature is showing its beauty. But it's also the time when SAP TechEd season begins. For me, as a product manager in the area of Business Process Management, always a very exciting time. Especially this year, as we have some new products there to show, present and more important to be explored by you. Probably you have already heard of them:

- SAP Cloud Platform Business Rules
Well, I am quite sure you have already seen a lot about SAP Cloud Platform Workflow, as there have been so
many blogs on this first "child" of our BPM cloud service family.
So, today I would like to focus more on our new one:
SAP Cloud Platform Business Rules, which has just been released a few weeks ago (just take a look at the
blog by chief product owner Ramana Mohanbabu).
Guidelines & policies everywhere
For a moment, think of all the policies and guidelines you will find within your company. Probably based on common best practices, defined within your organisation or even forced by the law. Somehow these regulations must also be reflected in your business applications as business rules. You might say: "oh, we already have them implemented within, deep down in multiple business applications." But consider changes of these business rules or be able to empower the business people within your company to do so without heavy involvement of the IT department. Or even worse, as the decision making process is not digitized at all.
SAP Cloud Platform Business Rules - author, extend and automate decisions
This is where SAP Cloud Platform Business Rules comes in. Supporting spreadsheet-like decision tables, it's quite easy to model business rules and formulas. With the Web-based business rules editor you will have an easy way to manage the business rules, independently of the application logic.
