Welcome back to our well-known use case series. After we started this series with SAP S/4HANA 1511 along 1610 and S/4HANA Cloud use case series we got a lot of encouraging feedback to continue it.

It is designed to offer a closer consider look at business value acceleration - driven by the design principles of SAP S/4HANA. The technology-induced implications of the digital economy are huge, though the technology itself is only a catalyst to achieve a fundamentally different business outcome.

The selected use cases, related to SAP S/4HANA Release 1709 are designed to emphasize and visualize the value behind this technological shift, that can be activated by you.

We have introduced a framework of value levers to help build your company-specific value proposition for each use case and will again use the framework to measure the impact.

The final goal of each SAP S/4HANA project is the leverage of new technologies to drive significant business improvements. The business may know that change is needed but existing technology does not allow those changes. In addition, our imagination is a limiting factor, because we are all trained to think in solutions along existing boundaries.

With SAP S/4HANA we can remaster processes built on the ambition of a digitally transformed world. It is the enabler of the digital transformed core, allowing new innovative ways to deal with new industry challenges, allowing teams design processes differently and rethink on industry differentiation.

The series starts with a cloud first but not cloud only view, where we will shed a light on some of the innovations that are now also available in the on-premise release, such as SAP Leonardo Machine Learning or demand-driven replenishment. After this general overview, we will dig deeper into the different areas for finance, manufacturing, procurement, and the improved tooling. Therefore, the series will always have 2 angles: The BUSINESS benefit view (a) and the TECHNOLOGY view (b).

Below you can see what has been enhanced or even added as innovations to SAP S/4HANA 1709:
