Imagine a scenario where you use WEBGUI (SAPGUI for HTML) to access ERP transaction codes via web browser.

Then, while testing a specific case, you face an issue.

You contact SAP Support via SAP Expert Chat and is informed that a correction for this particular issue is available.

Fine, right? But then you realize that the correction requires a kernel patch, there is no SNOTE correction available, due to the nature of the ITS MIMEs delivery.

Even though the patch process is well known to SAP Basis teams, it might require several additional tests, as the entire kernel is being changed.

A solution for this dilemma is now available: a new package, called sapwebgui. It contains only the WEBGUI related files.

If you have interest in this new approach, then you can find more information in KBA 2221289 (How to install package sapwebgui).

This is a welcome NEW Development for ITS/WEBGUI area Cris. The KBA 2221289 is great – I especially liked the explanation on how to distinguish between the Kernel and the sapwebgui package.
