Barriers to Digital Transformation

For many businesses, digital transformation has become a top priority. However, many still need to define a strategy to equip their employees with the right digital skills to become successful on this journey.

A key finding from research by Technical University of Munich (TUM), published in June, TUM’s study Skills for Digital Transformation reveals that awareness of the importance of digital skills is greater than ever. However, targeted skill development is still rather the exception. In fact, digital talent is threatening to become the major bottleneck of digitization in the industry.

Get SAP Certified with SAP Learning Hub

When SAP R/3 was introduced, learners could only take the certification exam at SAP training locations after attending a six-week consultant academy program.

Today, you can either attend a traditional classroom training, or you can subscribe to SAP Learning Hub. As SAP’s cloud-based learning platform for professionals, SAP Learning Hub provides opportunities for study with self-paced materials and cloud-based training systems – supported by nearly 100 moderated learning communities, our SAP Learning Rooms. You can even take many exams online and at home on your laptop – remotely proctored in five simple steps:

Impacts of Social Learning

On SAP Learning Hub, SAP Learning Rooms include more than 130,000 active room members. Recently, we conducted a study to evaluate the short- and long-term effects of social learning on learning consumption and learning success.

Study design and methodology: In April 2017, we identified learners who were actively participating in SAP Learning Rooms on a regular basis and contributed to the overall learning community with comments, blog posts and discussions. At the same time, we also identified learners, who had access to SAP Learning Rooms but haven’t been active.

Results: Two month later, we compared both groups in terms of completed e-learning courses and self-tests. Not surprisingly, there were huge differences in April: Learners who were active in SAP Learning Rooms consumed nearly three time more e-learning courses and passed more self-tests.

SAP Learning Room Name Change

SAP Leonardo University Partner Collaboration Room is changed to SAP IoT and Digital Supply Chain PartnerEdge Collaboration Room* available on SAP Learning Hub, edition for SAP PartnerEdge.

This learning room provides opportunities for sales and presales consultants to expand their learning experience through collaboration with peers and subject-matter experts on SAP solutions and services.

SAP Learning Room Report

Good news: more than 130,000 learners have joined the community of SAP Learning Room members, an increase of 54% compared with the previous year.

 

Bookboon E-Library in SAP Learning Hub

The Bookboon e-library gives subscribers of professional, business, and student editions of SAP Learning Hub access to hundreds of professional development e-books. You may find the full catalog and a list of new books of the Bookboon e-library in the Welcome Room*. The e-library has approximately 500 books available for download covering topics such as accounting and finance, IT management, career management, engineering, and marketing and sales.

The interest in these e-books on soft skills is constantly increasing year by year. Approximately 15% more SAP Learning Hub users downloaded Bookboon books in the last 12 months and in average one single user downloads around 10 books per year.

New Curriculum for SAP System Security Architects

We live in a time of remarkable change and opportunity. Data and technology are transforming industries, society, and even the workplace – by creating professions that did not exist before the emergence of data, cloud, social, and mobile communications. SAP system security architects have a forward-thinking role responsible for building and maintaining SAP user roles across SAP software landscapes and providing authorization support to project and business managers.
A new learning journey for SAP System Security and Authorization* has been built to provide broad and deep knowledge and equip security expert with the knowledge they need to secure any SAP System Landscape, regardless if it is an on premise, cloud or a hybrid landscape.

•    A new SAP Learning Room to launch in September, where we facilitate discussions and run Webinars to cover different angles of SAP system security and authorization such as SysRec, ConfigVal, system recommendations with SAP Solution Manager 7.2, SAP HANA DB Security, or other software
•    Two new cloud courses (digital only) for SAP cloud identity and authorization management and secured cloud integration
•    Two new academies to minimize the number of days consultants are taken form their daily business: SAP security – setup and management and SAP security authorization
•    New two-day classroom training for authorization for SAP S/4HANA: Authorization Concept for SAP S/4HANA
•    A new professional certification for the role of SAP system security and authorization architect
