Recently, I spoke to
Allan Pym, chief operating officer of
APOS Systems, about their analytics solutions posted on the SAP App Center. He shared with us his views on the SAP App Center and how customers value their complementary solutions of our products.
Tell us, as an SAP Partner, what do you think about the SAP App Center?
I like two things in particular. First, that SAP is demonstrating its commitment to the SAP partner ecosphere. Second, that the new SAP App Center gives us more opportunity to describe our solutions and what they can do for organizations wanting to get the most out of SAP business intelligence (BI) solutions .
We’re focused around bringing partner innovations to customers. What are you hearing in the field?
APOS is finding more and more of our contacts and customers who are thinking "outside the box," and asking not just what SAP BI can do for them, but also what they can do to make SAP BI even more responsive to their unique needs and organizational restrictions. The partner ecosphere is entering the customer considerations earlier and more often.
One of our customers has told us that the need for extra connectivity and integration led them to consult with us prior to their decision to purchase SAP BI, and that our
APOS Publisher solution on the SAP App Center was critical to the successful integration of SAP BI.

Tell us more about your solutions on the SAP App Center for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise platform.
Some important recent news for us, with the release of SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.2 SP4, is that the Distribution Server module of APOS Publisher is now integrated with BI Launchpad. This integration provides greater distribution flexibility and control over the distribution of BI content for better information and system governance.
One of the other trends we are noticing is that there is growing interest in
extending data connectivity. We believe this trend is largely due to the ongoing SAP BI convergence strategy. Our APOS Data Gateway solutions (

SAP Analytics Cloud) are designed to address these needs for greater data connectivity.
