Transport and include BRFplus objects to Transport request:

There are two scenarios in which we would be working on BRFplus object.

  1. Development of new BRFplus application
  2. Changes in already transported BRFplus application

If I have selected storage type as System then In first case system will ask me for a transport request, then only i can proceed with creation. In second case system will not ask me for Transport request, it will allow me to make changes in without specifying any TR.

Now question here is how will I assign changed or newly created or changed objects to new TR?

In this blog I am going to explain how to include BRFplus object to TR.

There are different ways of transporting BRFplus, it depends on storage type chosen at the time of application creation. BRFplus provides a number of different storage types for objects to be stored. The storage category is selected on the basis of how the application objects are intended to be used. The storage type is defined as a property of a BRFplus application. When creating an object, the new object inherits its storage type from the application to which it belongs. There is no way for an object to override this inherited setting.

Three types of storage types are:

  1. System data
  2. Customizing data
  3. Master Data

In this blog I have used SYSTEM storage type.

System data objects is stored in client independent tables of delivery class S. This can only be transported via a workbench request.

Go to transaction SE09 and create a Workbench request for BRFplus object.

Open FDT_HELPERS transaction to include objects to above created TR.

Click on BRFplus transport node and double click on  BRFplus: Write Application or ID to Transport.

Execute it:

Mention Transport request and maintain enter an Object ID which I want to assign to TR.

To find out objects ID of object double click on object and in General tab I can get the object ID:

On successful assignment of an object to TR :

Now I have included BRFplus objects to a TR but when I will go to SE09 and check the objects assigned I am not able to view individual objects assigned to TR. Refer the below screenshot.

To check the objects included in Transport request, BRFplus provided standard functionality.

Go back to the BRFplus application. Click on Tools-> Transport Analysis

Select object type and Mention Username and TR.

now I can view Two assigned objects in TR of expression type.

Please let me know in case of any queries.

Thanks

Deepesh

      Hi Deepesh,

I'm facing an issue with BRF plus application transport movement. Can you please help me in this.

My issue is I have created a BRF plus application for one of my change request for the first time and when I'm trying to move the transport to quality system BRF plus application is not getting created.

I've tried to add the objects to transport using FDT_TRANS report also but still application is not getting created.

I've observed that entries of table USMD213C_SSW related to my change request got missed from the transport.

Could you please help me to resolve this.

      Regards,

      Ramya

      Hi,

is there any documentation on how the transport of BRF+ is working on a SAP 4/HANA Public Cloud system. I don't see the option to "Write Application to a Transport".

      Best regards,

      Valentin
