Top 200 Internet of Things Prototypes from the “Touch IoT with SAP Leonardo” Prototype Challenge
It is my pleasure to announce that, after much deliberation, we have arrived at the Top 200 submissions for the Prototype Challenge as part of the openSAP course “Touch IoT with SAP Leonardo.”
As a quick refresher, openSAP is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform that offers free courses on all sorts of fun topics related to SAP technologies and tech industry trends.
In this case, learners were introduced to SAP Leonardo, SAP’s new “digital innovation system,” and were given the tools (e.g., BUILD, an online prototyping tool), templates (e.g., SAP Connected Goods examples), and learning resources to design and build their very own Internet of Things (IoT) prototype.
While connecting “things” is becoming the new normal for the next generation of digital innovation, we also didn’t want to lose sight of the value of more traditional and analog connections. That is to say, SAP was happy to partner with online lending platform Kiva.org to give the top 200 learners (of nearly 1,600 participants) the ability to fund an entrepreneur of their choice.
As we like to say, the Internet of Things can serve us best when it’s not only about connecting things but also about connecting people.
Last but not least, the top 5 learners were each rewarded with an Intel NUC Mini-PC (thanks to SAP Partner Intel) to help facilitate their next move into the world of the Internet of Things.
