When someone is using your application you want to take them on a journey. User experience is more important than anything else because it can still destroy a great product. It’s why you see some apps succeed even though they might not be better than the ones they’re competing against.

There is only one real solution to the problem. You must ensure you get everything right when designing an app, which can be tricky if you’re not extremely experienced. We’re going to help you out by looking at the main things you should be focusing on from the beginning.

Keep Things Simple For Users

This might seem like common sense, but it’s not the way all minds work. You only have to look back to a decade ago to realize companies were doing the exact opposite. Applications were always more difficult than they needed to be.

Maybe it was because some people thought complexity meant something was more valuable, but that kind of thinking needs to be left in the past. Now you need to do everything within your power to keep things simple for users.

It Needs To Do Everything

An app might need to be simple to use, but don’t let this send you in the complete opposite direction. When you’re designing a user interface it’s possible to exclude too many things in the same of simplicity.

It needs to let the user perform all the actions they’ll want. You can start at the end when you’re doing this. Add in all the actions you can think of and start excluding them one by one until you can’t take away anything else.

Make It Pleasing On The Eye

The perfect user interface doesn’t necessarily need to be pleasing on the eye, but it certainly won’t hurt either. This does not mean only having a Deluxe logo design in case you thought you were going to get off easy.

Everyone likes something that looks good to the eye, whereas they won’t enjoy using an app they can’t stand looking at. Craigslist is the ideal example of an ugly and successful website, but it’s the exception to the rule.

Every App Should Be Actionable

First of all, you want users to click on links to perform actions. You also want them to do it as often as possible. The user interface should trigger them to do this without even thinking about it if you get it right.

It’s not only about the first trigger, which makes it slightly harder. You need to think about the actions they’ll perform once they’ve clicked something. We did say earlier on a user would be going on a journey and this is it.

Try To Play With Their Emotions

One of the ways artificial intelligence will affect users is by reading their emotions and playing with them. Think of it as Sigmund Freud reborn in machine form because it’s going to be more advanced than anything we’ve seen.

In the meantime, you still must try to touch your users on an emotional level using everything we know about psychology. A design that triggers certain responses will give you the desired results you’re looking for.

These Tips Will Take You Far

Try building the most popular application in the world and you’ll need more tips than these, but they’re a step in the right direction. If you ignore any of these you’ll find it difficult to achieve the success you’re looking for.

Always these are very subjective and perceptive. My take would be is to focus on the value the App brings to user. This should be the priority, while not discounting the appearance etc., but solid foundation on value and continuous focus on that aspect is more important
