What’s the SAP Cloud Platform Technical Academy?
The SAP Cloud Platform Technical Academy (Canadian Roadshow & SAP Blogs Edition) is a series of (three) exercises that will walk you through creating a Single-Page-Application (SPA). This application will be called SAP Translate and will communicate with the SAP Translation API (a contributing piece of the SAP Leonardo Machine Learning Services). Feel free to test mine out here.
These exercises are delivered in-person during the half-day SAP Cloud Platform Technical Academy roadshow in Canada. However, I understand that not everyone is able to attend in-person, especially if you’re not located in the cities on the tour route. This is why I decided to make each exercise available as a blog post on SAP Blogs. I realize that many more people will be able to follow the workshop and experience the power of the SAP Cloud Platform from anywhere they wish. Compared to the .PDF guides, blog posts are more accessible for anyone willing to learn about SAP Cloud Platform.
Please note, since these are exercises are part of the in-person Canadian roadshow, you will not be able to access the discussions and presentations that are available throughout the half-day workshop. That being said, I’ve done my very best to make it easy to follow along with the exercises online (hence the additional “SAP Blogs Edition” title).
How can I register for an in-person SAP Cloud Platform Technical Academy?

What will be discussed at the in-person SAP Cloud Platform Technical Academy?
As much as possible in 3.5 – 4 hours! We’ll cover topics such as Integration, User Experience, Development, Internet of Things, and use cases.
How can I complete the exercises without attending in-person? What do the exercises look like?
As mentioned above, each exercise will build on top of the other. The end result will be a fully-functional SAPUI5 application, communicating with a REST API from the SAP API Business Hub, and deployed to a SAP Fiori Launchpad. You can access the exercises below (as blog posts):
Exercise #1: Create your UI using SAP BUILD
Exercise #2: Add Logic to your UI in SAP Web IDE
Exercise #3: Create/Deploy to the SAP Fiori Launchpad
BONUS: Turn your SAP Fiori Launchpad into a native app (iOS or Android)
What do I need to participate?
This was great! How can I access more exercises like this?
Stay tuned! I’m always looking to create new exercises. Follow me on Twitter (@pscolucci) for the latest updates. I hope to see you in-person at one of our tour stops. If not, enjoy the exercises from SAP Blogs!
