Warm Welcome for HANA Express at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology

Jointly organized with SAP University Alliances Africa and  at the JKUAT in Kenya under the leadership of the Chairman of the IT departement of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Mr. Philip Oyier  with his staff, the infrastructure was well organized and enough working stations for students without their own Laptops were available.

If was a great pleasure for me of meeting so many  graduate, undergraduate and teaching staff of the IT departement  and other schools of the JKUAT, ready to take part to this CodeJam. In fact the first SAP CodeJam taking place at their university.

Most of the participants were aware of HANA and the concept of In-Memory Data Base, but did not have the opportunity to have either a workshop nor demo on it. Therefore, it was a great opportunity for them to have hands on HANA Express Edition.

All the participants have had the opportunity to discover and practice HANA. I demo, how to access HANA Express via AWS, Azure or by one willing to install his own  instance as well. Only very few could install their own instance as a Laptop with 8GB or 16 GB  memory is not very common in this part of the world.

Below are some pictures of a that memorable event in Nairobi.
