  • New Browser based UI as standard for Software Provisioning Manager SP20
    • The SL Common GUI with SAPINST 7.49 (or SL Common GUI for short) uses the SAP UI Development Toolkit for HTML5 a client-side HTML5 rendering library based on JavaScript
    • The SL Common GUI connects the web browser on a client with the sapinst executable running on the installation host using the standard protocol HTTP
  • New platform versions (OS/DB) enabled and platform-specific improvements
    • Newly supported databases within Software Provisioning Manager SP 20: SAP ASE 16 SP03 and Oracle 12.2 (depending on their availability)

Offering

SPAM/SAINT provides easy access to lifecycle management processes by being part of the SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP stack and by being accessible directly via SAP GUI. This way you are able to control different kinds of implementation processes, such as installing, upgrading or updating ABAP software components. SPAM/SAINT Updates themselves can be applied to ABAP-based systems independent of underlying SAP NetWeaver component versions.

Scenario “Up-to-date Installation”

Up-To-Date Installation refers to an enhanced process for the installation of new system at any chosen stack level. The new improved process enables complete planning in Maintenance Planner, which generates a consolidated stack XML and archives, which are later consumed by Software Provisioning Manager and Software Update Manager.
