For Stuttgarter Innovationstage SAP Digital Studio team developed in collaboration with Fraunhofer IPK Berlin (Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology) the new prototype “SAP Digital LeanKit: RetrofitBand”. It addresses the automation of manual processes in production environments. This is a new showcase for SAP Digital Studio and will extend its current Offerings (for more information, see: SAP Digital Studio Offerings Overview).
The idea is to automate the shopfloor data collection. Through worker guidance you can predict prevention of waste, production bottlenecks or downtime without delay.
This prototype is about a workplace and its efficiency which can be improved with the aid of sensors and technology like the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP).
With a RetrofitBand (a smart wearable) the manual data entry and documentation can be automated, the production and worker`s data is always available in real-time. Due to that all shopfloor KPIs like efficiency, quality, the process information transparency will be improved.
