Caitlin Frawley: I was excited when I received my email with the subject “The San Jose Sharks Invite You to Fan Appreciation Night.” As a native New Yorker, I knew I had to start embracing Bay Area sports teams. After going to a couple of games this season, I began to fall in love with hockey and the Bay Area spirit! What a perfect way to celebrate the Bay Area by volunteering and passing out Brent Burns bobble heads at the San Jose Sharks Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by SAP.
As a volunteer ambassador at SAP, I felt this was another great opportunity to give back. It was awesome to collaborate with my fellow colleagues. Seeing the looks on fans’ faces was the best part of the night! Who knew people could be so grateful for what I thought was just a bobble head. For the fans, it wasn’t just a bobble head, it was the community coming together celebrating the last game of the season, and their favorite player, Brent Burns.
I am so happy I could be a part of a fantastic night and I look forward to more volunteering opportunities! Thanks, SAP Silicon Valley, for giving me the opportunity to put smiles on thousands of faces.
Judy Lam: When I found out about the volunteer opportunity to pass out bobble heads at the San Jose Sharks Fan Appreciation Night, I signed up immediately.
I went to a few Sharks games earlier this year and I really enjoyed them. I have always enjoyed volunteering – it is a great way to give back and connect to the local community and bond with peers outside of work. Most of the SAP Silicon Valley volunteers just met that afternoon, but we instantly worked as a team and had great collaboration during the bobble head distribution.
The energy from the San Jose Sharks fans was amazing and contagious! Seeing how excited and grateful the fans were when we handed out the bobble heads made my night. I had so much fun at Fan Appreciation Night, and I look forward to more SAPsv volunteering opportunities in the future!
