SLN Spotlight_SAP Labs in France: Our way to help accelerate the digital transformation is our innovation, say SAP Labs in France’s MDs

On January 2016, our SAP CEO Bill McDermott recalled it: “the customer is the ultimate boss”. This statement is widely shared in all the organizations – whether they are public or private – as we have seen it during the great SAP event “Demain le Monde” which took place at SAP Tower on March 23rd and gathered 150+ major companies like Orange, Hermès, Unesco, Total or yet Capgemini. Each and every participant agreed that the “Human needs to be handed over to the heart of the business”. This is all the more important as the world is changing.

After decades of modernization and progress in the information and communication technologies, the new industrial revolution is happening. The convergence of technologies such as Cloud, Big Data, Mobile Computing and Predictive Analytics have big impacts on the way companies must manage their business. At the end, all the aspects within the companies are impacted, from the operations regulation to the social and economic footprint. The customer experience needs to be different then. This is why we are now in the age of the digital transformation. Since we see these new paradigms in our customers’ business, SAP has been providing Cloud and mobile solutions all in order to address these challenges.

The only way to help companies accelerate their digital transformation is our innovation.

For years now, we have been going through a massive change at SAP as we are reinventing our products while shifting our mindsets to quickly adapt to the world’s moves and to our customer needs. This is a journey, our journey. But all know that success is a journey, not a destination!

This both shift in technology and mindset is strongly taken into account within SAP and at the Labs more especially. In 2017, we even consider the digital transformation as our motto for this year’s activities. Our goals in a Lab perspective is to accompany the shift through special attention to our ecosystem and innovation. For the next months, we need to continue with the great momentum that is part of the DNA of the Labs so that we can fully meet the challenges and seize the opportunities.

Our journey is only starting. We are looking forward to hearing from the next months!
