1. Content activation per-requisites notes in 7.1 & 7.2 ?

     Manager 7.2 (SAP Note 2397667)

     Check the latest Solution Documentation Content Activation Guide

      Please complete Post configuration steps System preparation, Infrastructure Preparation and

       Basic configuration in Solman_setup.

2. During SAP Solution Manager 7.1 Solution documentation project transport  capture in   

     solar_project_admin missing some data and all the URLS?

      2391886 – Transport of Project – Missing data for “Content Activation”

2218580 – URLs are not transported during project transport

 

3. Where to start the content activation in Solman 7.2 ?

     Stage 1 – Prepare_activation

     Stage 2 – Solman_setup -> Post-upgrade activities -> Solution Documentation Content        Activation

4. How to change the solution name during content activation in Prepare_activation steps?

    Prepare_activation -> Step 2

   

              

5. How to change the Logical component group (LCG) name during content activation in    Prepare_activation steps ?

Prepare_activation -> Step 2 -> Select LCG and rename it.

              

6. How to check the solution and production branches are created properly before activate production content in 7.2?

Solman_setup -> Post-upgrade activities -> Solution Documentation Content Activation -> Step 2 active content

               

I would recommend to execute these step one by one and check the status.

After Create Solutions and Production branches execution, go to SOLADM and check the solution, production branch and LCG creation status.

                 Before active production content make sure Read RFCs are created for LCG systems.

 

 

7. After successful 7.2 Content activation still the Maintenance branches display read only in SOLDOC ?

Please execute Solman_setup -> Post-upgrade activities -> Solution Documentation Content Activation -> Step 3 close activation

                 Or

check the SM_SDOC authorization object details in the assigned role.

As per design always Production branch in read-only mode.

 

 

8. Best practice approach for branch setup in SAP Solman 7.2 solution?

 

During content activation by default Production and Maintenance branch will create in SOLDOC.

After content activation, we can create operations branch, Development branch, Design branch  and Import branch as per needs and requirement.

                Operation Branch -Is copy of production branch but used for all SAP Basis

                                                  configuration like EWA, System monitoring, Business process

                                                   monitoring. This branch is not subject to release and change

                                                    management.

                Design Branch – Help to design the customer proposed structure model like

Process folder, libraries, gap analysis, design documentation, process

diagram

9. Where to check the branches, system landscape, Logical component groups, document    type in SAP Solution Manager 7.2?

T.code: SOLADM or SLAN

10. Where to check the document type administration like create new document type, assign         Customer template docs ?

        T.code : SOLADM -> Global function ( Right side) -> Document type administration

 

 

11. Step to import SAP best practice in import branch?

2194123 – Setup HTTP connections to import SAP Best Practices Packages into solution

 

 

12. How to move the changes to production branch without ChaRM integration?

Right click the particular change -> Subtree changes -> Release changes

 

 

 

13. How to change the “Go to original” source from modular process, Process step library(PSL) elements like configuration, development , Executable types like transaction type, program,…?

               

Go to modular process or PSL -> Elements level ->select particular transaction type -> change target and select the target from libraries

 

14. SOLDOC document edit online option is not display for Google chrome and Mozilla firefox?

The option ‘Edit Online’ is only available in the Internet Explorer. Edit Online is for the Office Integration functionality.

Office integration in a Webdynpro the Active Component Framework (ACF) is used.

These ACF controls are ActiveX Controls and as Chrome and Firefox do not allow the usage of ActiveX based controls this option is not available in these browser.

15. How to find where used lists for docs, t.code, program while deleting or restructuring in SOLDOC.?

Right click the element and click the where-used list

18. Executable Analysis Dashboard is not display in Project and Process management work center(SM_Workcenter)?

In Standard work center role is not having this title. Please add the title as per SAP notes KBA: 2372332 – How to add tiles to Solution Manager 7.2 (SOLMAN_WORKCENTER)

19. In SAP Solution manager 7.1 we used RUTILITY_BLUEPRINT_GENERATION to create Business blueprint and update the deltas. How to update the libraries in 7.2.?

In Solman 7.2 -> SOLADM -> Library Generation Cockpit help to update Executable and development libraries .

 

 

 

20. In SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Library Generation Cockpit is not updating the delta in Process step libraries (PSL) .only updating in Executable and development libraries.( SOLADM -> Library Generation Cockpit). But in solman 7.1 version RUTILITY_BLUEPRINT_GENERATION report only create and update the PSL.?

Library generation cockpit does not create any new process steps.

We can able to generate Process Step Library form an executable library.

21. How to move elements in Solution Documentation SAP Solution Manager 7.2?

22. How to insert document in particular development object or executable t.code in Development /Executable libraries.?

Select the Development Object and then click on the tab with the +.

There you can then add your documentation for that object.

 

23. SOLDOC -> Global functions -> Report execution took more time to provide the results?

24. How to setup TREX search in SOLDOC.?

Prerequisite:

  • Minimum TREX version 58 is required when implementing Enterprise Search.But also SAP recommend to use lasted version

You can find the required information in the following notes:

 

1856942 – Latest Revision for TREX 7.10

2073982 – Avoiding various issues during TREX 710 upgrade to revision 58 and higher

  • After you have installed TREX, you have to enable/schedule Cron to carry out the merge of the deltas. Do this before scheduling the indexing. Use note: 2196916– How to schedule cron job for merging delta indexes

 

  • Run the python script check_esh.py to configure TREX for use with Enterprise Search. You can find it attached to this note: 2344042– How to execute python script check_esh.py

Also run it before the Enterprise Search indexing.

Once you have carried out the above steps, please try to set up Enterprise Search

 

  • First complete Embedded Search in Solman_setup and start the Process Management -> step 1, 2 and step 7.

 

 

  • For Index Usage collector performance issues in TREX -Please follow the steps provided in note: 1526788 – TREX 7.00/7.10: Index Usage Collector lead to known issues.

 

  • Also,  start seeing RFC issues during phases of high load, you may need to increase the number of RFC threads. For that, see note: 1065406 – BWA: Raise number of TREXRfcServer threads.

 

25. How to enable additional fields in Related documents?

 

This BADI implementation setting available in Process Management -> Step 5. Configure Solution Docs model -> Define Related Documents Visible at Attribute Pane

26. Which SAP component have all the SAP Solution documentation related latest notes and 

        correction details?

Component :  SV-SMG-IMP-BIM

 

27. How to search in SOLDOC and  download the content in file?

 

28. How to add the additional attribute like document type, last changed at in filter view?

 

  •  Go to List view and select the filter

 

       

  •    Also we can able to add the new column in table selection menu

29.  How to find currently which branch we are working in SOLDOC?

 

After SOLDOC open , make sure on right side branch details as show below.

Also the Solution name end with branch like <Solution name> – < Branch name>

       

 

30. what are the SAP Standard reports available in SOLDOC and where we find it?

SOLDOC -> Global functions -> Reports

       

31. What are the various ways to open and edit documents in SOLDOC and how to find version history for particular docs?

 

Check out – “Check out” option will save the documents in local drive and edit in offline. Then “Check In” the latest version document.  Check Out makes lock entry in change status   in right panel and set read only mode. If user check out the document by mistake can able to cancel using “Cancel checkout” option.

Edit Online – opens only MS word docs directly in new window. Remaining documents like ppt,

                        Visio… needs to use “Check out” option.

Edit online option only available in Internet explorer browser. Please check Q14 for more details

For office integration error, please check the SAP note 2437173 – Office integration error while opening document in solution documentation UI SOLDOC

Upload New Version – It will replace the existing version and upload with new version document.

Display History – It shows document change history version information like Change at,  Changed by, Branch… details with Short view and extended view option

32. How to find what is changed in particular branch (Development, Maintenance…) compare to production branch version. So I will validate and release the changes?

Ex. Business Export needs to validate the changes in Development branch ->Solution > Business Processes > Modular Processes > ECC and release changes?

Select Business Processes > Modular Processes > ECC in browser view and then change to List      View. In filter select the Change status and it will show how many changed, unchanged and  Created in left side and right side column shows in details.
