What’s New?

Earlier this year, we included SAP HANA, express edition to our list of topics that are now available to request.

During an SAP HANA, express edition CodeJam you will learn:

• How to install your own SAP HANA server for development or productive use
• How to install SAP HANA locally or in a cloud environment
• How to connect to SAP HANA
• How to import data
• How to begin application development

SAP HANA, express edition, is the streamlined version of SAP HANA. It contains all the same features as a full SAP HANA installation that are relevant to a developer, while some other features (like data replication or Solution Manager) have been left out so that the platform can be installed in a personal notebook. SAP HANA, express edition, allows access to developing and testing to any developer without incurring in significant costs of infrastructure with no license costs up to 32GB of RAM. The license is also for free even if it is used in productive. During an SAP CodeJam, we evaluate the different installation possibilities depending on the intended use and help people perform the proper setup to develop applications.

Not sure what SAP CodeJam is?

SAP CodeJam is a 5 to 6 hours event where a small group of developers get together for an afternoon of networking, learning, and coding in an ultra-casual environment all for free. Attendees get a chance to share and expand their knowledge and collaboratively develop with SAP technologies, platforms and tools under the watchful guidance of an expert. The events are developer community focused and supported by SAP, exploring technologies available through the SAP Developer Center.

How can you request a CodeJam event?

Anyone can host an SAP CodeJam event in their city. If you are interested, please send your request to sapcodejam@sap.comand include the following info in the email: name and email of the local contact person for the event, country and city in which the event will take place, estimated number of attendees (25 – 40), topic of the event, location, 3 possible dates.
