This openSAP course, Extending SAP S/4HANA with SAP HANA Cloud Platform, focused on presenting a variety of options for customers to extend existing applications and business processes in their on-premise SAP system landscape. We demonstrated the use of services available on SAP Cloud Platform, based on an end-to-end business scenario.

The course participants learned how to set up their own SAP NetWeaver server in a virtual machine and connect it to SAP Cloud Platform. They had the opportunity to build SAP Fiori apps and integrate these with SAP Jam, replicating back-end data to an SAP HANA database in the cloud. We also showed how to develop a Java application on SAP Cloud Platform, integrating different data sources and consuming ABAP RFCs from a legacy back-end system.

The students also learned why building extensions on SAP Cloud Platform provides benefits for their business, and how extension project teams need to be staffed.

The course is now finished, and I’d like to provide you with some key statistics. I’d also like to share some feedback from participants, posted in the discussion forum in our “I like – I wish” section of this course.
