How to do Adaptations for various UI’s and Apps

  • How adaptation is done in HTML5:
    • Log in to HTML5.
    • Click on Adapt.
    • Edit Master Layout or Edit Page layout.
    • The adaptations done here will have effect on HTML5, Responsive UI and Silverlight.
    • Tickets work center view is an exception.

 

  • How adaptation is done for Tickets work center view for changes to replicate in Responsive UI:
    • Log in to Firoi.
    • Click on the User Profile on the top right corner and select “Open Layout in HTML”
    • Now go to Tickets work center view.
    • Do the Adaptations here.
  • How adaptation is done from Responsive UI:
    • Log in to Responsive UI.
    • Click on the User name from the top right corner.
    • Click on Open layout in HTML5 . This will actually launch the tablet floor plan.
    • Do the Adaptations here.
    • The adaptations done here will have effect on HTML5, Responsive UI and Silverlight. Note: There are few work centers which is an exception, example: Tickets work center view. For tickets work center view the adaptations done here will have effect only in Responsive UI not in HTML5.
    • There is another Exception for the Survey. Adaptations done for the Survey screen is applicable only for HTML5 UI. Responsive UI will not consider the adaptations done for Survey. This is a limitation.
  • How adaptation is done in Extended app for Tablets:
    • The adaptations done in HTML5 will reflect in Extended App for Tablets.
  • How adaptation is done in Extended app for Smart Phones:
    • The adaptations done in HTML5 will reflect in Extended App for Smart Phones.
    • In addition, adaptations can be done specific to Extended App for Smart Phones as below
    • Launch HTML5.
    • Click on Adapt.
    • Edit Smart Phone Layout.
    • The adaptations done here will reflect only for smart phones and not for tablets.

      Hi Vivek

      Thanks for your sharing. In laptop, our Sales Representative can find Target Group in HTML5 and RUI, but from his SMARTPHONE, he could not find it in both Ext App (1702.1.0) and Chrome. How to do adaptation to make Target Group listed in SMARTPHONE?

      Hi Li,

      Target Group work center view is not supported in the extended apps for phone/tablet/IPAD. This is enabled only for Responsive UI in desktops.

      hi Vivek,

      one question, with 1911 SAP is completely get rid of HTML5 view, now if have to do Adaptation changes, how can I do it in FIORI or RUI?

      e.g., if I have to make layout changes or adaptation changes on Tickets list view in Fiori after 1911, how can I do, is there any documentation available around it or "Open layout in HTML5" would still be available.

      Hello Chandu,

      Official documentation is updated with the adaptation functionalities which are already available in Fiori:

      At 1908 release not all functions are yet available though, but once this is updated to 1911 and adaptation functions are completely moved to Fiori all functions should have their respective documentation in Help portal.

      For the functions that are not yet available you should still use Open Layout In HTML5 that will remain available until everything is migrated.
