Since 2000 .riess engineering has been a development partner of SAP AG and therefore responsible for developing the SAP PLM Integration for Pro/ENGINEER. Since 2014 .riess has been the chosen development partner of SAP SE for the SAP Engineering Control Center interface to PTC Creo.

.riess engineering europe gmbh is specialized in consulting, implementing and migrating in conjunction with SAP PLM. What they offer are solutions for data migration and process optimization to achieve the smoothest possible transition to SAP PLM and to support the daily work of design engineers. An important aspect of their tasks is mapping customer processes in SAP PLM. In addition, besides installing, customizing and developing the SAP price list product (SAP PLM), riess. also creates individualized customer-specific software solutions on their own.

On February 8, 2017, SAP SE and riess., along with a number of customers, got together for their annual user meeting, the Update 17.0. This year’s main subjects were, among other topics, Live Engineering and True PLM with SAP. So the following questions were raised – and answered in SAP’s keynote with clear and well-illustrated examples:

  • What does the digital transformation mean for R&D and what opportunities arise from it?
  • Which life cycle data is relevant to R&D and how does SAP PLM support this change?
  • How can you leverage the opportunities of digitalization to grow successfully?
  • What advantages does changing to S/4 HANA and SAP Engineering Control Center offer to SAP customers in this context?

 

It was clear to all participants that the fundamental answer to the above questions is SAP S/4HANA, and that along with the new variant configuration solution that will be live in the cloud this summer.
