The SAP SuccessFactors Intelligent Services Center (ISC), introduced in Q3 2016 as a beta release, is now generally available with the Q1 2017 release. The ISC enables HR analysts to model Intelligent Services events to match their organization’s business processes.

Intelligent Services are designed to connect and automate processes that would otherwise be siloed across SAP SuccessFactors and other third party applications. This is done by connecting—and predicting—application actions. Intelligent Services begin as events that are initiated (or published) in one SAP SuccessFactors solution, such as SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP SuccessFactors Learning or SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting. Any SAP SuccessFactors solution or third-party product can subscribe to, and therefore react to, any published event. Examples of events include change of manager, employee department or job information, employee absences, as well as new hires and terminations. Whenever an event is triggered, subscribed products automatically receive notification of the event with information relevant to the change. To date, over 500 customers have enabled Intelligent Services in production, triggering more than 42 million events.

The Intelligent Services Center is a one-stop shop to configure, customize, and monitor Intelligent Services events within SAP SuccessFactors and other business applications. This includes the ability to configure third-party applications to receive event notifications, and therefore automate the continuation of the process beyond the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite. For example, let’s look at the case of an employee going on a global assignment. You can configure Intelligent Services not only to automatically update other areas within SAP SuccessFactors, like Succession Management and Recruiting, but also to automatically notify your external benefits provider of the change. This eliminates manual processes and reduces errors.

Intelligent Services Center – Example of Add Global Assignment Event

The Intelligent Services Center also allows you to monitor the events that have been triggered in a specific time frame. This gives you valuable insight into the frequency of specific events within the organization, like how many employees became managers in the past month, how many employees went on a global assignment, and how many new successors where nominated.

The Intelligent Services Center gives HR analysts more end-to-end control over events, which means customers have the control in-house to manage these events and don’t need to rely on outside professional services. Intelligent Services will significantly reduce the involvement and the expense of HR shared services within an organization by automating and predicting a lot of the manual work that is done today to process the same events. With Intelligent Services, SAP SuccessFactors is enabling positive business results by providing a solution that is simple to use, simple to run, and will make it simple to succeed.
