S/4 HANA 1610 System Conversion for Oil & Gas customer

Introduction to S/4HANA :

SAP S/4HANA is the next-generation business suite. It is fully built on the most advanced in-memory platform. The product uses modern design principles with the SAP Fiori user experience (UX) as well as a new role-based user experience concept.

•  Removal of redundant functionalities. Provided one functionality for one objective. Some of the core principle includes run simple in digital economy, Internet of things, Bigdata and mobile-first.

This document covers mainly about the simplification list and pre-checks for Oil & Gas customers.

Pre-checks and simplification list for Oil & Gas customers:

This identifies important steps to be taken to ensure system can be converted technically and business process can run directly after system conversion.

Information/checks for Oil & Gas Downstream customers:

For Oil & Gas downstream areas, many innovation or simplification has been done as part of S/4 HANA 1610 release. Main areas are in HPM, TSW, Exchanges, BP, Material Valuation, Billing etc. These are some notes/information which are to be followed for conversion.

This is an example of data model changes done in S4HANA Oil & Gas area:



Note 2182725 explains the details about the conversion checks. For Oil & Gas customers, note 2331943 note is provided which explains the details of the checks to be performed before system conversion to S/4 HANA 1610.

According to note 2182725 report R_S4_PRE_TRANSITION_CHECKS to be run in client 000. It will display the notes to be implemented for all software components. 2331943 explains about Oil & Gas.

According to note 2331943 ,CLS4H_IS_OIL explains about the checks need to be done in various areas of Oil & Gas solution.
CL_S4_CHECKS_HPM explains about the simplification done in HPM area. This is very vital as major redesign is done in HPM in 1610 S/4 HANA release.
