What is an appliance ?

A (software) appliance is a pre-installed SAP system in a compressed format (think of it as a large .tar or .zip file) that can be rapidly extracted into a regular system instance by preserving everything that has been configured in the system during the installation process.

The SAP Landscape Management 3.0, Enterprise Edition (Preconfigured Appliance) consists of SAP Landscape Management software and preconfigured demo scenarios with sample data, that helps you explore the key functionality of this solution.

How can the appliance be consumed ?

The appliance can be consumed in a hosted environment (using cloud provider infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure) with the SAP Cloud Appliance Library (SAP CAL) as a bridge into the hosting providers.

The appliance deployment takes approx. 30 minutes. After that, you can start using the SAP Landscape Management (Preconfigured Solution). No additional setup is required.

This offering comes with a built-in 90-day test license for SAP Landscape Management and SAP CAL (free of charge for the supported trial scenarios during that time)

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) or MS Azure fees are charged to your account
  • Support is provided via asking the SAP CAL community

If you are new to trials in the SAP Cloud Appliance Library, there’s a detailed ‘Quick Start Guide’ on the SAP Landscape Management 3.0 SP1  (Preconfigured Solution) Getting Started Guide. Registration in AWS/Azure and SAP CAL takes a few minutes.

How to run the test scenarios ?

SAP Landscape Management 3.0 SP1  (Preconfigured Solution) User Guide provides detailed information about the available test scenarios,  and a step-by-step description.

Even if you are new to SAP Landscape Management, you will benefit from the SAP Landscape Management appliance and will be able to execute all the test scenarios.

Enjoy this new experience…
