How to Complete a PartnerEdge Sell Authorization

Before selling solutions or applications, partners must obtain the relevant sell authorizations as specified within the PartnerEdge program. The following is a comprehensive and detailed guide on how to obtain the necessary sell authorization.

First, you need to have a SID created from Manage My Partnership Tool (MMP) to complete the training as well as to keep a record of your profile.

Next, review the Overview of Sell Authorization Requirements by Product Group, and you will find the required role-based training and tests organized by product groups.

For example, to complete the SAP Business ByDesign (ByD) sell authorization, there are four roles that need to be complete in order to receive a ByD sell Authorization – (1) Customer Engagement Executive (CEE), (2) Sales Executive, (3) Presales Consultant, and (4) Solution Consultant.

Click each course link for course details and complete the training and web assessment via under “Become Competent” to earn the qualification.

To find out what assessments you have already passed, click on the web assessment directly. If you get a pass notification you do not need to take this assessment again. If you see the welcome screen you have not passed the web assessment and need to complete it.

After completing all four roles, your ByD sell authorization status in MMP will become “Authorized”.

The Sales Executive, Presales Consultant, and CEE training are usually free of charge (A score of 80% or more is necessary to pass), but you need to pay for the Solution Consultant training and certification. Please find more information about using SAP Learning Hub, professional edition & solution editions, and Certification Hub to complete the training and exam to receive the certification. 

Sell Authorization is achieved when the required numbers of employees in your organization pass the mandatory Sales, Presales, and CEE, and in some cases Solution Consultant certification for the product groups your organization sells.
