Before selling solutions or applications, partners must obtain the relevant sell authorizations as specified within the PartnerEdge program. The following is a comprehensive and detailed guide on how to obtain the necessary sell authorization.

First, you need to have an SID created from Manage My Partnership Tool (MMP) to complete the training as well as to keep a record of your profile. Please install SAP Passport for a better experience.

Next, review the Overview of Sell Authorization Requirements by Product Group, and you will find the required role-based training and tests organized by product groups.


While some sell authorizations can be achieved through the PartnerEdge portal, others can be done through the SAP PartnerEdge Learning Room (S/4HANA vs. SuccessFactors HCM Suite).

For example, to complete an S/4HANA sell authorization, you can click the sales and presales links on the PartnerEdge portal. If you expand the course by clicking the plus (+) sign next to it, it will let you know whether a test is required. A score of 80% or more is necessary to pass.

After clicking the [take] button on a selected course, it redirects you to the course landing page in Learning Hub, which is the central location for all training roles.

To find out what assessments you have already passed, click on the web assessment directly. If you get a pass notification you do not need to take this assessment again. If you see the welcome screen you have not passed the web assessment and need to complete it.

To complete the SuccessFactors HCM Suite sell authorization, you need to have the access to SAP PartnerEdge SuccessFactors HCM Learning Room (Available SAP PartnerEdge Learning Rooms) by watching the video instruction. Then, click each required course to complete the training and web assessment via PartnerEdge Learning Hub the same way you do for S/4HANA sell authorization.

The tests consist of either web assessments or proctored exam at a certified testing center for SAP certification, or a combination of both, depending on the employee’s role and the type of training.

The sales and presales training are usually free of charge, but you have to pay for the solution consultant training and certification. Please find more information about using SAP Learning Hub Professional or User Editions to complete the training.

Sell Authorization is achieved when the required numbers of employees in your organization pass the mandatory sales, presales, and in some cases solution consultant tests for the product groups your organization sells.
