In their series of Industry 4.0 /  IoT Viewpoints analyst ARC talks about SAP’s new brand for its IoT portfolio named SAP Leonardo. The article provides information about the SAP Leonardo strategy, it links to recent SAP acquisitions, and it provides information about building blocks included in SAP Leonardo.

As I have stated in an earlier blog post, all Mill Products industries, among those producers of paper, metals, building products, plastics, furniture, textiles, or mine operators, are relying on the availability of their -often- expensive assets. Those assets are mainly used for production processes, only to a lesser degree they are used for hauling or storage tasks.

For a company from the Mill Products group, asset management and production are the areas mostly affected by Industry 4.0 /  IoT technologies. In consequence, these are the LoBs where IoT technologies can provide most value to this kind of business.
