Get Started with SAP HANA Cloud Platform @openSAP
SAP HANA Cloud Platform allows developers to quickly extend, build and run cloud business applications. With comprehensive services and capabilities, the world’s best developers depend on SAP HANA Cloud Platform to build better apps in less time. openSAP provides free and open courses to enable developers to get started with SAP HANA Cloud Platform and we’re happy to announce that we are reopening two of our popular courses from 2016.
SAP HANA Cloud Platform Essentials (Repeat) opens on February 7 and is aimed at new users of SAP HANA Cloud Platform, as well as experienced users interested in learning about new and improved functionality. As a developer, you will learn about the essential elements of SAP HANA Cloud Platform and how you can make the most of the variety of services it provides. Even if you’ve joined the previous SAP HANA Cloud Platform courses on openSAP, you will learn about the newly introduced services such as Internet of Things (IoT), gamification, mobile documents, and much more.
After the introductory course closes, you’re invited to join the next course, Developing Java-Based Apps on SAP HANA Cloud Platform (Update Q1/2017), which begins April 5. In this advanced course, you will learn to develop a Java-based Enterprise Sales & Procurement Model app running on SAP HANA Cloud Platform from beginning to end. You will learn to develop the OData services and Java Persistence API (JPA) model with the database connection in the back end, as well as the SAPUI5 web app front end. The ESPM app will be used throughout this course to demonstrate the end-to-end process for developers and in this updated version, there will be an additional mobile scenario for the ESPM app using SAP HANA Cloud Platform, mobile service. Developing Java-Based Apps on SAP HANA Cloud Platform (Update Q1/2017) will take a look at security and identity management, as well as collaboration (e. g., SAP JAM), document service, and API management. The course also includes information on SAP BUILD. Another new feature in this course is a system preparation week which starts March 29 and will help you to get your system set up for the exercises with the ESPM app.
Enrollment for both courses is now open and if you’ve previously completed these courses, Extending SAP S/4HANA with SAP HANA Cloud Platform is now running and there is still time to join!
To take part in any of the SAP HANA Cloud Platform courses, you should have basic programming skills, ideally in Java, as well as a basic knowledge of how to use the Eclipse development environment. You will have access to a free personal developer account on SAP HANA Cloud Platform to perform hands-on exercises. As always, all you need to sign up to any openSAP course is a valid email address.
