Who is Grainger? They are a leading industrial supply company founded in 1927 in Chicago. Grainger is a business-to-business distributor of products for maintenance, repair and operations facilities. This company also provides supply inventory management service and technical support.

Before Grainger started to run on SAP Service Parts Planning, “digital transformation” and “live business” were just some buzzwords to them. They struggled to make any changes in inventory management without investing custom development efforts. At that point, it was difficult for Grainger to grow across countries with limited resources and limited support. As the result, they turned to the SAP MaxAttention team for help.

What the MaxAttention team did for Grainger was phenomenal. All the data was Grainger-level volume, the task was challenging. How did they achieve it? The MaxAttention team built up a central place where data, processes and the system could all come together. With this great partnership with MaxAttention, Grainger was able to have the ability to have one planning process for all distribution centers across three countries: US, Canada, Mexico. As the result, Grainger not only met the industry standards, but also had flexibility to deliver efficiently for their businesses. To create additional functionality, the MaxAttention team created “Flexible BOD (Bill of Distribution)” in order to deliver amazing results with extended customization.

“Without these co-innovations, we would not have been able to have Service Parts Planning running as successfully as we do today.” states Jeff Devine, Business Systems Manager from Grainger.

SAP MaxAttention was always there to support and to answer our questions whenever Grainger needed help on improving performance across departments. Grainger without any hesitation, reached out to the tailored team and experts from SAP MaxAttention.

Grainger has the largest service parts planning database in the world. SAP MaxAttention was proud to have helped Grainger to push their limits, and to continue to be the industry leader with live business!
