In March of this year, Forrester published a new report on streaming analytics. The Forrester Wave™: Big Data Streaming Analytics, Q1 2016 report ranked SAP as one of the top 3 leaders in the streaming analytics space based on both our current offering and strategy. Specific new features that Forrester highlighted for SAP HANA smart data streaming included our integrated machine learning functions and our Streaming Lite deployment option for implementing streaming analytics on IoT gateways. Of course these newer features are in addition to SAP HANA smart data streaming’s ability to use complex processing logic to identify patterns, calculate aggregates, detect problems and generate alerts by combining real time streams of data with the appropriate historic and reference data using an in-memory stream processing engine.
