Almost un-noticed, SAP was able to release the new support package for SAP Identity Management 8.0 SP04 on November 28th 2016. With this new release SAP further extended the capabilities of the product and improved its quality. Here is a quick overview of the essential news that came with this release:

  • The connector for SAP HANA Cloud Platform Identity Authentication Service (formerly known as SCI): support for user modification, user (de)activation and user deletion was added as well as setting a productive password for the users

  • The SuccessFactors connector for SAP Identity Management now supports loading inactive users from SAP SuccessFactors. The Initial Load job can load inactive users that are in the following status: retired, terminated, discarded, furlough, - inactive users are stored in the identity store as disabled

  • The SAP HANA connector for SAP Identity Management now supports loading of analytic privileges from SAP HANA and assigning these privileges to users or removing them

  • For a better future support of the SWPM tool (Software Provisioning Manager), all SAP Identity Management components can now be packaged as SAR files

More details about the new features in SAP Identity Management 8.0 SP04 can be found in the documentation on help.sap.com.

The SAP Identity Management development department in Sofia (Bulgaria) already started to work on the next SP. It should follow the trend from the previous releases to further improve the existing functionality and also add brand new capabilities.
